IMAA TRAVEL SUBSIDIES (General)
This year, IMAA is only able to support a part of transportation costs. A committee will be reviewing applications and notifying all applicants by the week of April 30, 2024.
If your application is successful, IMAA will reimburse the approved portion of transporation costs within 7 days of receipt of requisite documents.
IMAA will prioritize requests from first time attendees, emerging media arts administrators, participants from under-represented groups (as described below) and people whose organizations are in rural or isolated areas.

IMAA BIPOC TRAVEL SUBSIDIES
The BIPOC Travel Subsidy aims to provide financial assistance for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) attendees participating in Temporal Anchorings: A National Media Arts Gathering. The subsidy covers travel costs and accommodations, and not the registration fee for the conference. If the registration fee poses a financial burden for you, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at info@imaa.ca.
Applicants who work for an organization that is equity-led and/or whose organizations have a mandate to serve equity-deserving communities will be prioritised. We understand that securing funding for travel expenses can be difficult, particularly for individuals from marginalized communities. Please share with us any challenges you may have encountered in accessing financial support from your organization for BIPOC staff travel. Your response will help us better understand your needs.
Outside of this criteria, applications will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis until the available allocation is exhausted. Only one application per organization can be funded. A committee will be reviewing applications and notifying all applicants during the week of April 30, 2024.
If your application is successful, IMAA will reimburse the approved costs within 7 days of receipt of requisite documents.
Please note that there is also a general Travel Subsidies Form (supporting transportation only). BIPOC participants can apply for both travel subsidies, but will be able to benefit from only one.
