$39k – $43k prorated/ $20-$22/hour at 21 hours or 3days/week

The Independent Media Arts Alliance (IMAA) is a member-driven non-profit national organization working to advance and strengthen the media arts community in Canada.  Representing over 100 independent film, video, audio, and new media production, distribution, and exhibition organizations in all parts of the country, the IMAA serves over 16,000 independent media artists and cultural workers.

IMAA is excited to be hiring an Operations Coordinator. Working in collaboration with the entire IMAA team to strengthen the organization’s data management practices, workflows, and ensure the smooth daily operation of all its activities, this individual will hold a key role in supporting IMAA’s work. 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • With direction from the National Director (ND), optimize IMAA’s data management and storage and ensure that it conforms to digital security best practices
  • In collaboration with the ND, establish internal best practice guides and data management policies
  • With direction from the ND, manage IMAA’s software and subscriptions
  • Support the National Director with reconciliation of monthly financials
  • Working with the ND and the Membership and Communications Manager, maintain IMAA’s Website, Fee Schedule, and IMAASource
  • Support IMAA’s communications, promotion of activities and resources
  • Respond to any other related tasks and duties that are required.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Experience working in artist-run, DIY, and/or independent organizations and collectives
  • Strong experience with various data and project management software, primarily GSuite, WordPress, Asana, Miro, Slack, Airtable, and Discord
  • Strong knowledge of office softwares (Excel, Word, etc).
  • Knowledge of Canada Council for the Arts funding programs
  • Excellent organizational skills and practices, comfort with working autonomously, a curiosity for learning and exploring various software 
  • An understanding of anti-oppression and equity frameworks
  • Strong communication skills and experience with remote work
  • Multilingualism is an asset
