AMAAS is proud to partner with Arts Commons, Visual Arts and Media, in Calgary for the Gallery of
Alberta Media Art (GAMA).
Through a peer assessment selection process, GAMA programs up to 24 Alberta media artists annually
running three months in duration. This project reaches a diverse audience of all ages; content must be
suitable for public spaces. Each of the selected proposals will receive an artist fee of $400.00.
GAMA is programmed on the Arts Commons monitors in three locations, in the CASA in Lethbridge and
at the Legislature Interpretive Centre in Edmonton.

Gallery of Alberta Media Art (GAMA): GAMA is an exciting micro-cinema programming partnership
between the Alberta Media Arts Alliance Society (AMAAS), Arts Commons in Calgary, Alberta. Through a
peer assessment selection process, GAMA programs up to 24 Alberta media artists annually running three
months in duration. The media art appears on television monitors located in Arts Commons, Casa Gallery in
Lethbridge and Legislative Interpretive Centre in Edmonton. This project reaches a diverse audience of all
ages; content must be suitable for public spaces. Each of the selected proposals will receive an artist fee of
$400.00.

GAMA APPLICATION FORM (Submissions received without this form will not be reviewed)
Deadline: Submissions must arrive by 4:00pm on Friday, March 11th, 2016.
Eligibility of work:
Must have been completed within the past 24 months
Must be appropriate for a diverse population of all ages; content must be suitable for public spaces
The creator’s primary residence is in Alberta
Minimum 3 minutes and maximum 15 minutes in length
Animation films under 3 minutes may be submitted
Must be available for programming for the 2016 – 2017 programming year. Please be aware that a
substantial amount of time goes into reviewing each submission, do not submit work that may not be
available for programming.
Please include:
o Artist CV (maximum two pages).
o Artist Statement/description of the artwork (maximum 400 words).
o Artist biography (maximum 200 words).
o DVD of the proposed work: high resolution quicktime file, uncompressed (compressed for internet will not be
accepted) no less than 720×480 pixels.
o Signed application form.
o Self-addressed stamped envelope (Arts Commons will dispose of any materials not selected that were not
accompanied with a self-addressed stamped envelope).
Loss or Damage: While every precaution will be taken to prevent loss or damage, the Selection Committee,
Arts Commons and their agents shall not be liable for any loss or damage of submission items, however
caused.
Original Work: The artist guarantees that the artwork is original and does not violate the copyright of any
other person.
